About us
We are a family of four: my husband Micha (41), our daughter Lucie (17),
our son Michel (15) and I - Undine (40).
We live in the small village Hohenerxleben (Saxony-Anhalt - in the middle of Gemany) between Magdeburg and Halle -
just two minutes away from the freeway A14. I have been loving cats since my earliest childhood. Unfortunately I was
never allowed to have an own cat. I think that is the reason, that there are "some more" living with us.
In 2003 "Clevercoon" was born. From the beginning my daughter Lucie shared the interest for this hobby with me.
But without our men`s support such a cattery would be inconceivable.
How everything started
Everything started, when a "common-on-garden" male domestic cat moved in to us in 2001. We picked up our
"Garfield" from Pansfelde - a small village in the Harz Mountains. From the beginning he was simply fluffier and sweeter than
all other cats we have ever seen. We noticed - when it got colder outside - he gut fluffier and fluffier. He wasn`t a common cat.
Every time we received company, all guests marvelled at him ... he was so special. After we had gathered information about his
appearance we were convinced that his unknown father might have been an outdoor Maine Coon or Norwegian Forest Cat.
Garfield was a looker, when he was pacing up and down on the wall of our land with his bushy tail up in the air.
Forever the 14th April 2003 will be our "Black Monday". In the morning somebody knock Garfield down. He was lying
on the pavement in front of our gate. Our whole family was petrified with horror.
The children cried angryly:"Stupid boy racers! Stupid scorchers!" again and again, but we couldn`t bring him back.
Every person works through grief and finds healing in a different kind of way. Day after day we were looking
for a "second Garfield" on internet. Nevermore we wanted to live without such a wonderful creature.
One day we saw our Missy. Though she wasn`t Garfield`s copy she looked very similar. She brought back the balance into our life.
Missy wasn`t allowed to leave the house. Furthermore we had visited too many web sites of Maine Coon breeders.
Only if feel the same at the sight of a Maine Coon you will understand. Their beauty and fascinating personality account for their
irresistible attraction.
End of May 2003 our first male Zonk moved in to us and "CLEVERCOON" was born.
WE picked up Tiger from Berlin a few weeks later. You can read her special story on her own page.
Although Missy and Tiger aren`t pedigree cats they are entitled to live with us and to get their strokes forever.
You can plan everything: The real thing is never how you think it will be. You never know how things turn out.
Since 2007 we have been living in Hohenerxleben. Coonie and Tiger became buddies and even now they use one plate!
Our dear faithful soul Missy had to move out, because the situation in the group got unbearable for her.
It was a hard decision for us to make and was far from easy. We cancelled placed adverts although we had got lots of enquiries.
We could not stand the thought Missy would not be with us any longer. NOTHING we left undone - we regrouped the cats several times,
used "Feliway" and "Felifriend" as well as homoeopathic remedy and Bach flowers - all attempts were in vain - the situation
got worse and more and more intensify.
We did not do justice to peace for Missy. Finally Yvonne and Ralf took responsibility for Missy and we are so happy for her; she can
enjoy cuddling without any trouble.
The harmony among our cats is very important to us. And we enjoy the recovered peace, too.
